The Akron Zoo has some new residents and other residents who have moved to other accredited zoos based on Species Survival Plan recommendations from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The zoo has received a new red panda, Komodo dragon, a sun bear and two Humboldt penguins.
Russia's oldest symphony orchestra -- the St. Petersburg Philharmonic -- will fill Akron's EJ Thomas Hall Wednesday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m., with its soul-stirring signature sound. "We play with our hearts," says concertmaster Lev Klychkov.

Brecksville -- Appalachian folk duo the Honey Dewdrops will play at Happy Days Lodge in Cuyahoga Valley National Park for the first time on Feb. 18. The concert is hosted by the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park and the National Park Service.
