Toth earns All-Ohio honors for Knight bowling

Not a lot went right for the Nordonia High School boys bowling team at the state tournament this past weekend at Wayne Webb's Columbus Bowl. Making their third straight appearance in the state tournament on Saturday, March 11, the Knights qualified for match play.

Nordonia's Perrine wins it all

The 2016 season ended in frustration for Nordonia senior Anthony Perrine. After winning All-Ohio honors his sophomore year, Perrine was eliminated by Elyria's J.T. Brown in the 2016 state tournament. Thus, motivation was never an issue this winter for Perrine.

Knight hockey routed by Bombers

The Nordonia High School ice hockey team's season came to a close recently, as the Knights fell to defeat against Kenston in the opening round of the state tournament. The Bombers bombed Nordonia by the score of 11-0 Feb. 18 at the Kent State University Ice Arena.

Senior bowler Phil Toth is the Brandywine Vision Center Nordonia Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 27. Toth won the individual district title at the Northeast district tournament with a three-game series score of 742. He won the title by 111 pins.

Nordonia wrestling sends three on to districts The Nordonia wrestling team opened its postseason run Feb. 25 at the Division I sectional tournament at Brecksville-Broadview Heights. The Knights finished ninth in the 12-team field with 65.5 points. St. Ignatius won the team title with 276.

For the second time in less than four weeks, the Nordonia boys basketball team clinched a Suburban League win over Hudson with clutch free throws down the stretch. This time, the Knights sank 7-of-9 fourth quarter free throws to close out a 56-50 win Feb. 21 at home.
